The Minister of Safety and Security v Seymour, D T [2006] SCA 67 (RSA)

The respondent, Mr Seymour, was unlawfully arrested and imprisoned by the state for a period of five days. For that he was awarded general damages of R500 000 by the Johannesburg High Court. This is an appeal against that award.
